What Makes Capitol Pool Service's Renovations Better?
Attention to Detail

When renovating a pool, CPS uses a laser level to ensure that the tile, coping and water line will be correctly aligned around the entire pool.
Our Work is Artisan Quality

We can custom fabricate straight or curved flagstone coping, including a flamed edge, on your job site. The finished coping job is shown above right.

We create the design and cut the tiles so everyone is proud of the results. The finished spa tile with a diamond design is shown above.
Over 45 Years Experience

In addition to replacing tile, coping and plaster, we also remove decks, and when necessary, find and replace leaking pipes.

The plumbing, two skimmers, tile and coping were all replaced in this older Washington, D. C. pool. The leaks were solved and new inset steps with grab rails were added so the automatic cleaner would not get snagged.

Here is the owner's reaction to the finished project:
Hi Ron,
How awesome does that new pool look!? I’m so happy with the way it turned out – you guys did a great job!
...Thanks again. It really does look amazing!
TH, Washington, DC

The cantilevered deck around this Maryland pool caused the tile to fall off because there was no expansion joint to allow for the freezing and thawing movement. We created an expansion joint above the new tile, caulked it and replastered the pool, making it look new again..

More than thirty five years of weather had taken its toll on this pool and deck. The deck needed to be replaced, along with the original tile and coping. The pool surface also needed to be re-plastered. In addition to that work, we installed inset plastic steps in the deep end, with new grab rails, and removed the old, dangerous diving board. The new, brick coping and tile updated the pool and, along with the new concrete deck, transformed the entire pool area, making it a far more enjoyable setting.

This pool in Chevy Chase, MD, leaked and needed a major face lift. The owner also wanted to make the pool more user friendly to her little grandchildren. In order to accomplish this, we created areas inside the pool where swimmers could sit by adding a bench in the deep end and by extending the second step around most of the shallow end. New lights, fountains and all new plumbing lines back to the filter system were also part of the renovation
Our objective was to transform the 40 year old existing structure into a more functional, attractive and enjoyable swimming pool. In addition to replacing the coping stones, tile and plaster, we also had to eliminate the original steps/entry into the pool, create new semi-circular steps, move a skimmer, add a bench in the deep end and install an entirely new automatic cover apparatus.

A new wall is created so the footprint will be rectangular and an automatic cover can be added.

Following the pouring of the new bench, the pool was plastered with a colored additive and the automatic cover was installed, to complete the job.

Above left shows the pool as it was just after demolition began. Above right shows the completed project with the automatic cover closed.
Although we cannot take credit for choosing the paint for the beautiful colored wall, we can note with pride the work we did to enhance both the appearance and the quality of this pool and the surrounding deck area which comprise the entire backyard of this Georgetown home, as the following photographs illustrate.
We removed the deteriorating pool tiles and mirrors, installing a stone wall, new tile and a waterfall, creating a more natural environment accented by the pleasant sound of splashing water.

We located the broken pipe and had to make the deck repair look seamless.

"Done"

This job included tile, coping, re-plastering and electrical lines for new lights.

Completed job.
WINTER POOL COVER INSTALLATION
Solid winter pool covers collect leaves, precipitation and, if untended, insects. They also present a serious danger to little people and pets, should they venture from the deck to the cover. Protect your pool, your young children and your pets, as well as your investment, with a safety mesh cover. See our “Special Offers” page for a money saving coupon.
